Fantastic. I love seeing your little thumbnail process of this. Really goes to show how much thought and care you put into it. I'm assuming the text is finalized after the composition is set and done. It seems like a challenge to keep everything aligned properly. wowzers :0

Thank you! Yup, after the main subject and illustration is done, I then move forward to text and work around it. Sometimes I do have text in mind and put in blocks or pseudo-text to have an idea where I want to place the text!

The style works quite nicely. If you didn't say Mario Strikers I would have said it had similar line strokes to Don't Starve. I feel like it could have been more sporadic in the background since it feels too clean there. Other than that, nice work experimenting!

If you didn't mention Don't Starve I wouldn't see the similarities. I'm a big fan of that messy style. Also I agree with ya I was hoping to make the background a lot more messy just not overbearing. I'm still gonna try tho :)

Nice work man. The linework could use a bit more polish but the colors are sweet :)
It looks a bit like a sticker design
